Krabi Trip 2015 - Itinerary

It's been almost 10 years since I last had a vacation... not those one two nights kinda stuff..but something longer and fun.

This time, we left the kids in the care of our in laws and off we went to our first trip to Thailand.

I've been to almost all the states (except Sabah) in Malaysia prior to having kids and hopefully I will be able to cover South East Asia within these few years of my new found freedom :)

We went to Krabi for 6 days. Crazy? LOL. Not really.
This is our itinerary.. what we did.

The famous ones, Lou Wong or Onn Kee, in my personal opinion doesn't come close to Cowan Street, as many Ipohians will agree with me.

Sangkaya Coconut Ice Cream

Sangkaya is Thai for custard.

But this ice cream is not egg based, it's more like a sherbet when no eggs or dairy cream is used, hence... Less rich, light like a sherbet. Not everybody likes rich desserts.

Treasure Pot 'All-You-Can-Eat' Steamboat @ Ipoh

The only 'all you can eat' steamboat in Ipoh that offers sliced pork. Located at Festival Walk, few doors away from Sushi Zento.

Last time, this restaurant was going ala carte, prices were rather high, so we never went in to eat and we do see it quite empty most of the time. But then, it changed to an 'all you can eat' concept, you need to book your table!

Well... It's not really RM25 for everything. You can opt for upgrades to better things, like better broth, better fish and better other things. But to us, the basics are quite good already. We didn't do any upgrades.

Laksa Pokok Limau @ Kuale

The latest laksa fad to hit town, but has made many addicted to it. I think it's here to stay for a long long time, and I heard from a friend that it even has spread to Ipoh.

I myself, am a laksa addict. I leave almost nothing in my bowl or plate. Not to be confused with the rich coconutty laksa from the south , Northern laksa is light, spicy and sour, and made with a beautiful  aromatic fish broth.
