Krabi Trip 2015 - How we got around
Here's how we got around in Krabi....
We didn't jump on any bus or songthaew except for tour transfers of which was inclusive. It was fun riding in a songthaew with the wind blowing in your hair.
As for how we got there, we flew with Firefly but if we are ever going back to Krabi for another time, we will have a road trip. It takes roughly 7 hours to drive there. Google map works even when we were out at sea island hopping :)
pillion riding at Thara Park |

the motor we rented, so cute :) |
If you want a motorcycle agent that will take money (THB3000) as deposit, you can try MotoKrabi
At first, I wanted to rent from them, but we were out at sea the full day in Aonang, so didn't get one.
I walked til my leg want to break on the 2nd night from Pakasai to Moo2 for supper, hahahaha, after a day at sea.
After we stayed in Krabi town, we rode everywhere .... and made one trip to Aonang. Just make sure your phone has power and there's no way of getting lost, unless you don't know how to use Google Map. Too bad we didn't have time to roam around the villages around Aonang as it was getting late. Helmets are not really enforced there, but for the sake of safety, we donned them all the time.
4. Walking
Yeah.. walk! After all those calorie laden food, please walk!
Both hotels I stayed in had no lifts.
Aonang on its own is a walkable area. Let's say, from Deevana Plaza Hotel (end of Moo3) to the other end, let's say Phu Pi Maan, it might take around 30 to 40 minutes of walking, depending on your speed of course.
I walked to Nopparat Thara beach, walked all the way until Phu Pi Maan Resort on night one.....but on second day, I cannot due to fatigue from all the island hopping.
Krabi town is 'quite walkable' if you have a partner. It's hot in the day, and quiet at night. It actually feels safe there as I see handbags in motorcycle baskets and openly on shoulders while riding. By 11pm the town gets really quiet zzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............
But if have a bike, life is so much better! LOL.
